Mushiya Tshikuka Foundation Launches NOIRE Initiative: A Bold Step Towards Menstrual Equity in Congo

The MushiyaTshikuka Foundation has taken the initiative to address this critical issue by manufacturing high-quality, healthy menstrual pads called NOIRE to distribute throughout schools in Congo, providing all young girls access to FREE menstrual hygiene products during their cycles. We have already produced 10,000 pads which are currently in Kinshasa and have begun distribution to a few local school. However, to scale up our efforts and make a more significant impact, we seek the Government’s support and funding and propose the following solutions.

Manufacturing and Distribution

We request funding to manufacture at least 10 million packs of menstrual pads annually and assistance in establishing a robust distribution network to reach schools in remote areas effectively. By providing free menstrual pads to young girls, we can remove a significant barrier to their education, enabling girls to attend school regularly and benefit from valuable learning opportunities, thus,  building a future country of women with improved education

Awareness and Education Campaigns

Raising awareness and educating the community about menstruation is crucial to changing the prevailing mindset and fostering a supportive environment for young girls. We propose collaborating with the government to conduct awareness campaigns in schools, communities, and media platforms to promote open discussions and eliminate the stigma associated with menstruation. Conveying the power and greatness of women on her cycle will empower young girls to take control of their bodies and their lives, allowing them to be greater contributors to the development of the country.
